چکیده
QED vacuum can be polarized and magnetized by an external electromagnetic field, therefore acting as a birefringent medium. This effect has not yet been measured. In this paper, after having recalled the main facts concerning Vacuum Magnetic Birefringence polarimetry detection method related noise sources, we detail our Monte Carlo simulation of pulsed magnetic field data run. Our results are optimized to match BMV experiment 2014 data. We show that approach reproduce experimental giving important insight systematic effects limiting sensitivity.

متن کاملVacuum Birefringence in a Rotating Magnetic Field
We calculate the vacuum polarization-induced ellipticity acquired by a linearly polarized laser beam of angular frequency ω̄ on traversing a region containing a transverse magnetic field rotating with a small angular velocity Ω around the beam axis. The transmitted beam contains the fundamental frequency ω̄ and weak sidebands of frequency ω̄±2Ω, but no other sidebands. To first order in small quan...
متن کاملMagnetic Hamiltonian Monte Carlo
Hamiltonian Monte Carlo (HMC) exploits Hamiltonian dynamics to construct efficient proposals for Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). In this paper, we present a generalization of HMC which exploits non-canonical Hamiltonian dynamics. We refer to this algorithm as magnetic HMC, since in 3 dimensions a subset of the dynamics map onto the mechanics of a charged particle coupled to a magnetic field. W...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulations of the SU(2) Vacuum Structure
Lattice Monte Carlo simulations are performed for the SU(2) Yang Mills gauge theory in the presence of an Abelian background with external sources to obtain information on the effective potential. The goal is to investigate the lowest Landau mode that, in the continuum one-loop effective potential, is the crucial mode for instability. It is shown that also in the lattice formulation this lowest...
